REGIONAL COACHING CONFERENCES 2010
The final of the Regional Coaches Conferences is about to commence in Subic Bay, Phillipines. Information on this conference can be found on the ITF coaching weblet (www.itftennis.com/coaching). The ITF are pleased to announce that the keynote speakers include: Frank Couraud (ITF), Suresh Menon(ITF), Beni Linder (SUI), Pancho Alvari帽o (ESP), Brenden Sharp (ITF), Travis Atkinson (AUS), Robert Ballard (AUS), Doug MacCurdy (ITF), Ranil Harshana (IND), Miguel Crespo (ITF) and Paul Sindhunata (INA). This years ITF Regional Coaches Conferences were conducted in partnership with Olympic Solidarity and the Regional Associations (ATF, COSAT, COTECC, and CAT).

COMPLETED COURSES
North African Coaches Conference, Hammamet, Tunisia (6 to 9 October)
The Biennial Regional Coaches' Conference of North Africa took place in Hammamet - Tunisia from 6 to 9 October 2010 at the Houda Yamine Hotel. The Conference was organized by the Tunisian Tennis Federation (FTT) in conjunction with the ITF, CAT and Olympic Solidarity.
More than 100 coaches representing African and Middle Eastern Countries participated at the Conference: Algeria, C么te d'Ivoire, Egypt, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco and Tunisia. The Conference was organized under the patronage of His Excellency Mr Samir Laabidi, Tunisian Minister of Youth, Sports and Physical Education. His Excellency was present at the Closing Ceremony; accompanied by Mr Mehrez Boussayene, President of the FTT and many Senior Management figures from the Ministry of Sports.
The Conference covered topics on Play & Stay, Physical preparation, Beach Tennis and the training of competitive players. The main Tutors were Mr. Mark Tennant (GB) and Mr R茅mi Leurs (FRA). In addition, the following experts participated: Frank Couraud (ITF), Amine Ben Makhlouf (ITF), Hichem Riani (CAT), Moustafa Naim (EGY), Luca Appino (FTT) and Mrs. Salma Mouelhi Guizani (TUN)
Prior to the Conference, the ITF/CAT organized on the 3rd and 4th October, a refresher course for potential Play & Stay and Level 1 tutors, with approximately 20 coaches taking part.
During the closing ceremony, Mr. Mehrez Boussayene, President of the FTT thanked all participant coaches, the Experts, the Olympic Solidarity, the ITF, the CAT and the Organizing Committee managed by Mr. Heykel Lakhdar. Mr Boussayene also thanked His Excellency the Minister of Sports of Tunisia who accepted the organisation of the Conference under his patronage. During the speech, he re-iterated that Tunisia is still a welcoming and hospital country for all associates coming from African and Arabic countries. He then proceeded with His Excellency the Minister of Youth, Sports and Physical Education to honour all Experts offering them souvenirs. From his side, Mr Frank Couraud, ITF representative has offered souvenirs to the Minister, the FTT President and the Manager of the Organizing Committee of the Conference. Mr Boussayene then invited all participant to a Gala Dinner organized by the Tunisian Tennis Federation.
34th Tennis Europe Coaches Symposium, Moscow, Russia (15 to 17 October)
Over 100 delegates from Europe, and 60 participants from Russia attended this years conference in Moscow, Russia, from the 15-17th October. The conference marked Tennis Europe's 34th Symposium, and was the largest ever in terms of attendance with coaches from 37 of Tennis Europe's 49 member nations, plus observers from Canada and South Africa. The event was organised by Tennis Europe and hosted by The Russian Tennis Federation in conjunction with the University of Sports in Moscow. Key speakers on a variety of topics related to developing high performance players for the futre included the Russian Tennis Federation President, Shamil Tarpishev
Other key note speakers included some of the world's top experts, such as Bruce Elliott (AUS), Steven Martens (GBR), Frank Van Frayenhoveen (NED), Antoni Girod (FRA), Nathalie Tauziat and Bernard Pestre (FRA) as well as some of the best known names in Russian tennis and coaching, including Anna Skorodumova, Olga Morozova and Igor Andreev.
The programme of the Symposium focused on developing successful players for the future. The presentations covered different development strategies by comparing East and Western European
approaches, exchanging information about using modern training equipment as well as discussing the best practices in developing players' technical, tactical and mental skills.
The conference ran very well with participants staying at the historical Hilton Leningradskya Hotel. Despite the cold, participants received a warm welcome from Russian delegates and organisors at the symposium, making the conference an all round success.
13潞 Conferencia para Entranadores de ITF, Mar del Plata, Argentina (5 to 9 Octubre)
En el Hotel NH Provincial de la ciudad de Mar del Plata 鈥 Argentina, entre el martes 5 y s谩bado 9 de Octubre se realiz贸 la 13掳 Conferencia Regional de Entrenadores de ITF 鈥 COSAT, organizada por la Asociaci贸n Argentina de Tenis.
En un marco de excelencia organizativa participaron m谩s de 470 entrenadores de los 10 pa铆ses pertenecientes a COSAT. Destac贸 la gran delegaci贸n colombiana con m谩s de 90 inscritos.
Abri贸 el evento un hermoso v铆deo con los himnos nacionales de los 10 pa铆ses asistentes y las palabras del Sr. Arturo Grimaldi, Presidente de la AAT, el Sr. Mart铆n Aiello, Consejal de la ciudad de Mar del Plata que dio un fuerte apoyo a este evento y Dave Miley, Director de Desarrollo de ITF.
Entre los expositores principales se pueden destacar a Dave Miley, 鈥淎ctualizaci贸n del Programa de Desarrollo de la ITF鈥, el destacado Preparador F铆sico espa帽ol Jofre Porta, que impresion贸 a los asistentes con temas tales como 鈥, "Lateralidad en el tenis鈥, 鈥淧rogresi贸n de ejercicios Abierto 鈥 Cerrado鈥, "Biomec谩nica del tenis para todos", 鈥淓jercicios de ajuste y frenada鈥. Tambi茅n expuso el Capit谩n de Copa Davis argentino Modesto Tito Vazquez con "La derecha: Entrenamiento y sus opciones", Gustavo Luza 鈥淓ntrenamiento de situaciones de juego espec铆ficas鈥, los mayores productores de jugadores en Argentina Rub茅n R茅, actual coach de Velloti, con "Bases del entrenamiento para formar juniors exitosos" y los tandilenses Mario Bravo y Marcelo G贸mez con "El rev茅s paralelo y la derecha invertida". El biomec谩nico brasilero Elson Longo habl贸 sobre "El efecto mariposa en el tenis鈥 y el Director de Desarrollo de la Confederaci贸n Brasilera de Tenis trabaj贸 acerca de "Trabajo de consistencia en el juego de base", adem谩s el Director de junior de la misma Patricio Arnold, expuso acerca del 鈥淧rograma de Alto Rendimento Junior de la CBT鈥. Los Capitanes de Equipos Junior de COSAT, el chileno Carlos Marchant "Tenis femenino y su desarrollo" y el paraguayo Alfredo de Brix "Desarrollando tenis femenino en Sudam茅rica. Aspectos t茅cnico/ t谩cticos / Estructura / log铆stica鈥. El 煤ltimo d铆a estuvo tambi茅n marcado por excelentes presentaciones entre las que se destacan las del Director de Equipos Junior de ITF Iv谩n Molina, que trabaj贸 sobre 鈥淓jercicios con canasto y de situaciones t谩cticas鈥, Horacio de la Pe帽a "Como encontrar el patr贸n de juego de nuestro alumno y como trabajarlo" y Daria Kopsic "Factores importantes a tener en cuenta en el desarrollo del Saque"
La organizaci贸n del evento a cargo de Tenis Argentino, liderado por Diego Garc铆a, dej贸 una vara muy alta de superar por la alta calidad de cada uno de los detalles. La cancha de superficie sint茅tica, instalada en uno de los salones del Hotel, entreg贸 amplias comodidades con sus tres pantallas gigantes. Las conferencias pr谩cticas y aquellas que solo entregaban informaci贸n se daban en el mismo lugar, impidiendo que los asistentes perdieran tiempo en desplazamientos entre cancha y sal贸n.
Por la tarde, los d铆as mi茅rcoles y viernes fueron organizadas comunicaciones libres en 4 salones el primero y 3 el 煤ltimo, permitiendo elegir entre una amplia y variada gama de temas y expositores. Fue curioso recibir algunos reclamos 鈥減or no poder asistir a todas que eran tan interesantes鈥.
A la ceremonia de clausura asistieron las autoridades de la Asociaci贸n Argentina de Tenis, encabezados por el Dr. Armando Cervone, Vicepresidente y el Sr. H茅ctor Romani, Director Ejecutivo, quien estuvo siempre apoyando, respaldando para que todo saliera al m谩s alto nivel. Tambi茅n se hicieron presentes, los Sres. Sergio El铆as, Presidente de COSAT y el Sr. Camilo L贸pez P茅rez Moreira, Director de Desarrollo. Fue una hermosa fiesta, en la que se entregaron los reconocimientos respectivos de parte de ITF a la AAT y cada uno de los conferencistas principales, dando paso a n煤meros musicales en los que no pod铆a faltar Diego Garc铆a, el organizador, que se caracteriza por la alta calidad de sus interpretaciones.
Opini贸n un谩nime de los participantes es agradecer a la AAT y los organizadores por todo el esfuerzo desplegado dando como resultado un maravilloso evento.

VI JORNADAS TECNICAS DE ACTUALIZACION

DIRIGIDO A: T茅cnicos de tenis, Preparadores f铆sicos, Jugadores de tenis y, en general, a
todas las personas interesadas en el entrenamiento en el tenis.
OBJETIVOS: Optimizar la formaci贸n de los t茅cnicos y profesionales del sector dot谩ndoles
de recursos y herramientas para desarrollar su trabajo.
Contribuir en la formaci贸n continua de los t茅cnicos deportivos y profesionales del sector,
abordando diferentes 谩reas de conocimiento dentro del entrenamiento del tenis.
