THE WORLDWIDE COACHES CONFERENCE- PORT GHALIB, EGYPT

With the Worldwide Conference just twelve weeks away, final programme preparations are taking place before the world of tennis descends on the Port Ghalib Red Sea resort. Amongst Key note presentations, workshop and poster presentations, video analysis clinics have now been added to the programme, led by Warren Pretorious from Dartfish. With the programme theme this year being "The Long-term Development of the High Performance Player", participants will have access to an unmatched array of technical expertise and information on how to develop players for the world stage. Korea Tennis Association (KTA)complete the Coaching Beginner & Intermediate Players Course- Chuncheon, Korea

Korea Tennis Association's (KTA) bold initiative to reform Coaches' Education continues to move at a rapid pace. KTA in conjunction with the ITF organized the first ever course for Coaching Beginner/Intermediate players in September 2010. Not long after that in January 2011, KTA organized the second Coaching Beginner & Intermediate Players Course together with a Tutor's Course.

Over the past 6 months, KTA has continued to maintain the momentum in coaches' education and recently organized its third Coaching Beginner & Intermediate Players Course. Each new course seems to elicit greater response from Korean coaches. A total of 28 coaches were accepted into the course which was conducted by ITF expert and Development Officer for Asia, Suresh Menon, together with Korean tutors consisting of Lee Jai Sik, Han Min Kyu, Lee Jeong Myung, and Lee Jung Sok. In this course, many of the presentations were conducted by the local tutors and the ITF expert functioned as a facilitator. This is part of ITF policy of eventually delegating coach education to the National Association. Curso de Nivel 2 para entrenadores con fondos de Solidaridad Ol铆mpica, en Lima - Per煤 

A partir del 8 al 19 de Agosto se ha realizado en Lima, Per煤 al curso ITF de Nivel 2 para entrenadores avanzados.

Un total de 24 participantes de las ciudades Lima, Arequipa, Trujillo y Chiclayo asisten al mismo, tiene el aval de la Federaci贸n Deportiva Peruana de Tenis, el auspicio de Solidaridad Ol铆mpica y el Comit茅 Ol铆mpico Peruano.

En la ceremonia de inauguraci贸n estuvieron presentes el Presidente del Comit茅 Ol铆mpico Paruano, Sr Jos茅 Qui帽ones, quien hizo 茅nfasis en la importancia de los profesores de tenis de formar a los deportistas como personas, destac贸 los valores que promulga el Olimpismo. Por su parte Se帽or Edmundo Jaramillo, Presidente de la Federaci贸n Deportiva Peruana de Tenis, hizo menci贸n al sacrificio y esfuerzo que deben realizar los entrenadores para, con su inteligencia, promocionar y formar m谩s y mejores jugadores de competencia para el Per煤.

El curso fue dictado en las instalaciones del Lawn Tenis Club por los expertos tutores de la ITF Richard Gonz谩lez e Iv谩n Molina. La coordinaci贸n del curso estuvo a cargo de Daniel Cardenas por la Federaci贸n y David Kinosita en representaci贸n de la Federaci贸n Peruana de Tenis y el Comit茅 Ol铆mpico Peruano respectivamente.

Curso de Nivel 1, Lima - Per煤. Formaci贸n del equipo de Tutores Nacionales

Entre el 20 y el 31 de Agosto, en las instalaciones de Campo de Marte de la Federaci贸n Deportiva Peruana de Tenis, se ha iniciado este Curso de Nivel 1 con el nuevo formato propuesto por la Federaci贸n Internacional de Tenis ITF a cargo del Tutor de la ITF, Profesor Richard Gonz谩lez. Uno de los objetivos principales, adem谩s de entregar informaci贸n a 23 candidatos, era trabajar con los Tutores Nacionales Percy Melzi, Micky Ceballos, Lee Brown y Hans Buse, entreg谩ndoles las herramientas metodol贸gicas de c贸mo los Tutores llevan adelante este Curso.

Participan 23 entrenadores de Lima, Arequipa, Piura, Chosica, destacamos la presencia de tres mujeres y de dos entrenadores peruanos que vienen de Estados Unidos.

Como coordinadora est谩 la Gerente de la Federaci贸n, Sra. Rosa de Torres, con una excelente organizaci贸n atendiendo todos los detalles.

Durante el curso, los profesores realizaron la pr谩ctica docente con todos los ni帽os del centro de tenis de la Federaci贸n, estos pertenec铆an al programa de tenis escolar de Peru (JTI). Agradecemos al profesor Daniel Cardenas que dirige a estos ni帽os, toda su disposici贸n.

Queremos destacar la gran labor que realiza la FDPT, a trav茅s de su Presidente el Sr. Edmundo Jaramillo, tanto en el 谩rea deportiva, como desarrollo y social dando un gran marco a esta instituci贸n, con un alcance de inter茅s nacional.

 ITF ANNOUNCEMENTS

Position Vacancy
The position of ITF Development Officer for Pacific Oceania, has become available and the ITF are now accepting applications from prospective candidates. The position will start in January 2012, and the successful applicant will report to Frank Couraud within the Development Department within the ITF, and the Executive Officer of the Oceania Tennis Federation. The role will be heavily linked to ITF development projects relating to the region, coach education as well as junior player development and professional tennis. A good knowledge and understanding of the Pacific Oceania region and Pacific Oceania Tennis is important. Applicants must be fluent in both written and spoken English, and fluency in French would be preferable. Applicants must also be a fully qualified coach to a minimum of ITF level 2 (or equivalent). Good administrative and computer skills are also sought. Closing date for applications is 30th September 2011. A full job specification is available here
