THE WORLDWIDE COACHES CONFERENCE- PORT GHALIB, EGYPT

The ITF would like to take this opportunity to confirm that the situation in Port Ghalib, Egypt, remains very stable and preparations are continuing for the forthcoming Worldwide Coaches Conference, which is scheduled to be held in Port Ghalib from 20-24 November 2011.

Since the political changes in January 2011, the ITF has successfully held a number of events in Egypt, including the Fed Cup Zonal event for Euro Africa (May), the African Qualifying of the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup (June) and the African Davis Cup group 3 (July). In addition, four ITF 18 & under Junior World Ranking events were held in Cairo between July and September and a fifth ITF Junior event has just finished in Cairo, with no reported problems.

Throughout 2010 and also since the change of Government in January, Port Ghalib remained unaffected and has continued to operate as a very safe tourist destination with no recorded incidents. In addition, the airports in Cairo, Hurghada and Marsa Alam are all secured and fully operational.

We can confirm therefore that the ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference by BNP Paribas will proceed as planned in Port Ghalib, Egypt in November and we are delighted that more than 430 coaches have already enrolled for what promises to be a great conference.
