ITF Regional Coaches Conferences An important element of the ITF's Coaches Education
Programme are the Regional Coaches Conferences. These events are
held regionally every two years and typically deal with both high
level player development and increasing participation in tennis.
This year the ITF Regional Coaches Conferences have been conducted in partnership with Olympic Solidarity and the Regional Associations (ATF, COSAT, COTECC, and CAT). The dates for the Regional Coaches Conferences are as follows-

COACHES EDUCATION IN EUROPECoaches Commission meet at Roland Garros
The ITF Coaches Commission met at Roland Garros on Saturday 30th May. Chaired by Ismail El Shafei (Egypt / ITF Board of Directors), the Commission discussed the forthcoming Regional Coaches Conference 2008, as well as preliminary plans for the Worldwide Coaches Conference 2009. Also on the agenda was the issue of on-court coaching and coaching matters as related to Davis Cup, Fed Cup and professional tennis. Luca Santilli gave an update on junior tennis while Dave Miley presented on the ITF Play and Stay campaign. |
COACHES COURSES IN ASIASyria - Play Tennis Course
The Play Tennis course held in Syria between 6 - 8th June had a special feel to it as it coincided with the Under 10s festival held at the same date and same venue. This helped coaches participate in the festival and work on a daily basis with kids of different ages (5 - 10 years) and different levels using the 3 courts sizes along with 3 different types of balls. The participants were introduced to Competition Formats and the ITN along with Basic Tactics and Techniques for kids and beginners. |
CURSOS PARA ENTRENADORES EN SUDAMÉRICAGustavo Luza Cursos Cortos en Chile, Perú y Bolivia.
El conocido experto argentino Gustavo Luza, ex Capitán de Copa Davis, integrante de la Comisión de Entrenadores de ITF, Director de la Escuela Argentina, realizó una Gira de Cursos Cortos por estos tres países de Sudamérica. Comenzó en Chile, en la Casa de la Federación de Tenis de Chile, donde junto a algunos expertos locales, entre los que se destacaron el capitán de Fed Cup, Carlos Marchant, el Dr. Pablo Araya con una exposición sobre el Tenis en Silla de Ruedas, dictó una serie de importantes Conferencias sobre Alto Rendimiento y Desarrollo de Junior a Profesional. Este Curso de Módulo "D" está circunscrito en el Programa que actualmente tiene la Confederación Brasilera de Tenis para la formación de Entrenadores y corresponde a la primera parte del Curso de Nivel 2 de ITF. Los días 20, 21 y 22 de Junio del 2008 se realizó la primera experiencia en las instalaciones de la Universidad de Sao Paulo, como Coordinador estuvo el Director de Capacitación de la CBT, Profesor Cesar Kist. Asistieron 17 Entrenadores y todos los Tutores que imparten Cursos en cada uno de los Estados del país. Determinaron que para este Módulo "D" se debían tratar los siguientes temas. Curso de Nivel 1 Santa Cruz-Bolivia
Del 14 al 22 de Junio del 2008, se desarrolla en Santa Cruz - Bolivia, un Curso de Nivel 1 ITF - COSAT para Entrenadores. Es organizado por la Federación de Tenis de Bolivia y el Tenis Club Santa Cruz, tiene la certificación de COSAT. El Tutor ITF es el Profesor Richard González de Uruguay. El Sr. Hugo Nuñez del Prado, Presidente del Club Tenis Santa Cruz, dio la bienvenida destacando la importancia de los procesos de capacitación de entrenadores que permitirán en el futuro sacar más y mejores jugadores. El Club que preside respalda estas iniciativas que ayudan a elevar el nivel y calidad, no solo de los entrenadores del Club de Tenis Santa Cruz, sino también de otras ciudades que se han dado cita en este evento. |
COACHING COURSES IN CARIBBEAN
ITF / OS Level 1 Course - Antigua & Barbuda The commitment of the Antigua and Barbuda Tennis Association to improve their coaches' education on the island became a reality after the conclusion of an ITF/OS Level 1 Coaches Course on Sunday 22 June 2008. The course was held over nine days and attracted 15 coaches and teachers, including participants from Barbuda who expressed enthusiasm of having the opportunity to improve their knowledge. |
