Lanzamiento de la nueva página web Tennis iCoach español

En los últimos meses, el proyecto web de educación de la ITF, Tennis iCoach, ha crecido tanto en número de miembros, y de asociaciones nacionales como en variedad de contenido. En Noviembre verá la luz la nueva versión de la web en español.

Tennis iCoach Español más de 100 páginas web incluirá artículos, videos, e-learnings, presentaciones y entrevistas a expertos entrenadores y expositores de habla hispana en directo o mediante traducciones realizadas por intérpretes profesionales. La ITF cree que esta iniciativa ayudará más si cabe a los entrenadores de todo el mundo a acceder y beneficiarse de una información de calidad y de unos recursos educativos ahora disponibles en inglés y español.

Para entrar en la página web Tennis iCoach en español simplemente haga click en la bandera española situada en el margen superior izquierdo de la página inicial de miembros.

In recent months the membership of the Tennis iCoach website has increased with more Federations taking advantage of this great continual education learning tool. November has seen the launch of the website in Spanish.

Tennis iCoach Español has over 100 webpages boasting articles, videos, e-learning presentations, lecture room presentations and expert interviews all with Spanish speaking experts or professional translation. The ITF believe that this will enable more coaches worldwide to access and benefit from the quality information and educational resources available through the i-coach project.

ITF Tennis Play and Stay Seminar 2008

From November 28th to December 1st the ITF Tennis Play and Stay Seminar 2008, organised by the ITF Development Department, will be held at the LTA's National Tennis Centre in London. During the seminar, experts from around the world will present topics related to the Play and Stay Campaign. The Campaign aims to improve the way starter players are introduced to the sport and to position tennis as easy fun and healthy and fundamental to the campaign is ensuring that all starter players "Serve, Rally and Score" from the first lesson by using slower balls on smaller courts. Presentations will be followed by discussions, with the objective being to share experiences and ideas related to Play and Stay from the different nations and organisations and to look at how the project can be further improved in 2009 and 2010. Approximately 160 people from over 55 nations are due to attend, including the major federations, regional associations, coaching organisations, tennis industry and the ATP and Sony Ericsson WTA Tours.

CONFERENCIA REGIONAL ITF/COSAT/SOLIDARIDAD OLíMPICA PARA ENTRENADORES SUDAMERICANOS

La Conferencia Regional ITF / COSAT / Solidaridad Olímpica para Entrenadores Sudamericanos que se celebró en el Bourbon Cataratas Convention Resort en Foz do Iguaçú, Brasil finalizó el 8 de Noviembre. La conferencia organizada por la ITF y COSAT en colaboración con la Confederaçao Brasileira de Ténis (CBT) atrayó un total de 360 entrenadores sudamericanos en representación de Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela a esta conferencia de 5 días.

Entre los presentes se encontraban antiguos jugadores capitanes de Copa Davis y Fed Cup, Directores Nacionales de Formación, y muchos antiguos jugadores de nivel nacional, así como directores de club y entrenadores. Los participantes estuvieron los cinco días compartiendo conocimientos y experiencias con expertos internacionales de talla mundial como Bruce Elliott (Australia), Carl Maes (Bélgica), Ricardo Acioly (Brasil), Gabriel Jaramillo (Colombia), César Kist (Brasil), Miguel Crespo (ITF), Diego García (Argentina), Mark Caldeira (Brasil), Richard González (Uruguay), Mario Bravo (Argentina), Francisco Barrientos (Chile), Warren Pretorius (Sudáfrica) y José Ignacio Asenzo (Argentina).

CURSOS PARA ENTRENADORES EN SUDAMERICA

CURSO DE NIVEL 2 EN GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR CON FONDOS DE SOLIDARIDAD OLIMPICA

Del 11 a 22 de Noviembre en la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador se está realizando el curso de nivel 2 para entrenadores avanzados.

El curso está dirigido por los tutores Richard González, profesor de Educación Física y expositor ITF y por Iván Molina, coach de los equipos junior de la ITF.

Un total de 22 entrenadores participan en el curso el cual tiene lugar en el Anexo del Guayaquil Tenis Club, entre los participantes figuran dos de Venezuela, dos de Colombia y uno del Perú. Todos ellos pudieron asistir gracias a los fondos aportados por Solidaridad Olímpica.

Dos días antes del inicio del evento, se realizo un pre- curso con el fin de seleccionar algunos entrenadores, esto fue debido al número alto de postulantes, pero al final no hubo necesidad de restringir la entrada.

La ceremonia de apertura conto con la presencia del Señor Manuel Carrera, Presidente de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Tenis y del Señor Enrique Chávez, Director de Capacitación del Comité Olímpico Ecuatoriano.

CURSO DE TUTORES DURANTE LA CONFERENCIA ITF-COSAT PARA ENTRENADORES SUDAMERICANOS

Durante los días 5 y 7 de Noviembre se celebró un Curso de Tutores Sudamericanos en el que participaron un total de 30 tutores en representación de Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Perú, Uruguay y Venezuela. El curso estuvo coordinado por Miguel Crespo, responsable de investigación de la ITF para el desarrollo, Miguel Miranda, oficial de desarrollo ITF para Sudamérica, e Iván Molina, entrenador de equipos junior ITF. El formato del curso proporcionó la oportunidad de compartir informaciones tanto sobre los programas de capacitación de la ITF como sobre las características especiales de los programas de cada nación.

Los directores de los departamentos de capacitación de la mayoría de las naciones de la región presentaron las características fundamentales de sus programas de formación de entrenadores enfatizando los aspectos más relevantes ocurridos durante los últimos años. Durante las dos jornadas se comentaron aspectos relativos a la filosofía, organización, programas, recursos, tutores, evaluación, informes y seguimiento de los diferentes programas.

RELACIONES PORTUGAL - BRASIL DURANTE LA CONFERENCIA SUDAMERICANA DE ENTRENADORES

Durante la pasada Conferencia Sudamericana de Entrenadores de Tenis se pudo observar la importancia de la asistencia a estos eventos por parte de Directores de Capacitación de distintos países. Ese es el caso de Portugal y Brasil. Vitor Cabral, Director de Capacitación de la FPT, viajó a Brasil para asisitr al evento, presentar las últimas novedades sobre los distintos programas que se están realizando en Portugal, y mantener reuniones con los distintos expertos y responsables de capacitación de las federaciones sudamericanas.

COURSES IN AFRICA

Zambia hosts Level 1 Coaches Course

An ITF/OS Level 1 Coaches course came to close in Ndola, Zambia over the weekend. The course which was well attended by the local coaches from different towns and regions of Zambia, started with a 2-day mini tennis course and was followed by a 7-day Level 1 course attracting 22 participants. The course, which was conducted by the ITF Development Officer for East Africa, Mr Prince Madema, was not the first to be held in Ndola. Four years ago the Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) organized a similar course in an effort to improve the standard of coaches in Zambia.

The course covered the modern ways of teaching starter tennis players, intermediates and advanced juniors. Some of the topics covered included mini tennis, the role of the coach, mental training for beginners, strategy and tactics etc. The participants were very enthusiastic and motivated since for some of them this was their first opportunity to attend such a course.
